Why Portugal?

09.2017

Portugal is situated in the west of Europe and is on the coast of Atlantic Ocean. It’s a small and calm country, a beautiful quiet place with a huge culture and a nice climate.

Portugal is in the international news around the world as a country able to attract foreign investment, with reasons ranging from safety and quality of life to the evolution of the real estate market.

Investing in Portugal is the best way to invest in yourself and the best for your family.

  • Portugal was considered the 25th best country for business (Doing Business 2017′ study – 14th ed).
  • More than a hundred startups are born every day in Portugal.
  • Time and cost needed for company formalization was reduced.
  • Corporate income tax rate was reduced from 23% to 21% in 2015.

While Europe is disturbed by terrorist attacks and the world is struggling with international security, immigration and climate change, Portugal has climbed the increasingly threatened steps of the planet’s peace index and is now proudly sitting in 3rd position of the Global Peace Index. People feel safe on the streets and it is common to see police in the most touristy neighborhoods.

Over the years, Portugal has been internationally acknowledged as an excellent destination. Won 24 awards in the World Travel Awards 2016 for Europe and for the third year in a row, Turismo de Portugal was considered the “Europe’s Leading Tourist Board 2016”.

You can enjoy the sun for almost 8 months a year, the ocean with its amazing beaches and the delicious Mediterranean food. A place that offers you the possibility to spend unforgettable holidays.

Lisbon is the capital, an historical city full of mystery and beautiful constructions. You can always enjoy a walk in the city center and discover the monuments, the shops, the amazing views and still in less than 30 minutes you can go and spend a relaxing day near the ocean.

Some Portuguese universities are already a constant presence in the International rankings despite their small size when compared with foreign counterparts, and showing that training is an area where the country has international recognition.

The highlight goes to business schools, with three universities that have their ‘business school’ among the best in the world. The Catholic-Lisbon School of Business and Economics was the first to enter the ‘ranking’ of executive education in the Financial Times, appearing this year in 43th place. The New School of Business and Economics has entered for the first time in 2011, and is now in 28th. Also the University of Porto managed to make his debut in 2011, the ‘ranking’ of customized training for companies.
